The pull string does not work and retracts quickly and the batteries are original inside Woody who not been removed from the box. We do not know if the batteries affect this and may need to be changed. Tied in and his hat is sealed onto the inner box. The original tape has dried up and flaked off and was ripped and is very common among these toys. The box has suffered some storage damage most notably rip\tear on the side, creasing and corner\edge wear(please refer to the detailed images provided of the actual toy for sale). The box integrity is solid and Woody is fairly clean despite long storage all these years but has never been removed from box.
