Toy Story 2 train set – KB Toys exclusive. NEW, never had batteries installed, never removed from packaging! This is probably a one-of-a-kind item. The Toy Story 2 trains are out there, some of them even sealed in the original retail packaging, but this one in particular was sent to my store when I managed for KB Toys back in the late’90s. These were sent to selected stores, with intention for them to be used as storefront displays at the base of our store Christmas tree. At the time, I was also co-managing a KB Toys Express store (which was a holiday-only “pop-up” location), and the train that was sent to that store ended up being used for our main mall location, so this one went into the storeroom unopened. It has been stashed in my basement since then. This item is original, unused, unopened. This was a promotional item for select stores, and was not available in this configuration on the retail market. It appears to be very similar to the retail versions, yet the packaging and history of it makes it extremely unique. I have searched for years and never found one available online for sale anywhere, so I assume that this may be the only one that survived. The individual cars are around 10 in or so each, it’s a big item. I’m listing this for the first time ever today, December the 4th, 2024. There’s still plenty of time at this point to have it delivered to you by Christmas, if you want to display this magnificent relic beneath your own Christmas tree!
